Explained: Sludge drilling at Golden Valley

CALGARY, Canada (March 14, 2024)—Pambili is currently completing sludge drilling at our Golden Valley gold mine in Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland region as part of our ongoing exploration of the project’s underground gold mining potential.

Sludge drilling is a very quick and cheap method of exploration that enables us to prospect for additional high-grade ore zones that may have been missed during historic mining. This could provide a useful, additional source of near-term production.

The work also complements our investigations into Golden Valley’s larger-scale gold potential, which will be driven by our planned, longer hole diamond drilling campaign.

We’ve created the animation below to show exactly how sludge drilling works, and why we believe it to be so useful at Golden Valley in particular:

We look forward to reporting the results and following up on them when we have them.
